THE CLOSE of the football league season last weekend sounded the starting gun on a summer which will surely be full of transfer speculation.

Orient ended their League One campaign in style with a thumping 4-1 win at Plymouth, including a brace by Alex Revell.

But could Revell be a transfer target for other clubs during the close season?

The hitman returned from injury to hit a pair of goals and offer a glimpse of what might have been for the club which finished one agonising place outside the League One play-off zone.

A 16 goal tally for the striker is impressive for a campaign which was wracked by injury and barren streaks.

Revell has one year on his contract left to go, so boss Russell Slade will be hopeful of keeping the 27 year-old at the Matchroom Stadium.

Revell appeared content at Orient, speaking after last weekend’s win.

Hailing the campaign for “the best return I’ve had in my career,” Revell set out his vision for next season.

"My aim now is to reach higher than I did this year, and it's great to be able to go into the summer now knowing that I'm fit, I've scored two, and we've ended on a high.

"We're all disappointed that we've ended up a point short, but we've had a great season overall and now we've got to better that next year," he told club sources.
