ORION HARRIERS recorded their biggest ever medal haul at the county track and field championships at the weekend.
Nineteen medals were collected by the Chingford-based club’s members, with a number of personal best displays to boot.
Jordan Bailey got the event off to a terrific start with a sprint double in the 100m and 200m, winning both races. He also claimed second place in the long jump.
Under-17 sprinter Jermaine Hamilton took first place in the 100m and second in the 200m.
There was a silver medal for Amy Richards in her first ever county pentathlon. She also came second in the 100m and took bronze in the Under-15 girls’ long jump.
Under-20 athlete Roseanne Ampofo was third in the 100m, while Jake Callis was third in both the 1500m and high jump.
Callis’ brother, Luke, was also in action, taking a silver medal in the 300m.
Isabella Hoy, in her first county championship, took bronze in the 800m and 1200m, while Georgia Tuckfield was forced into second in a tight finish during the 3000m event. She also came second in the 1500m.
Bronze went to Under-15 high jumper Lizzie Peattie and Priscilla Ossai in the shot.
Nikkita Sartori-Sigrist was also third in the 300m hurdles.
