LEE VALLEY SLOUGH Under-10s were unbeaten on their way to being crowned champions at the Sheffield Junior Ice Hockey Tournament over the weekend.

Lee Valley, who twinned with Slough Junior Jets at the beginning of the season, did not lose in seven matches over the two-day competition.

They beat Basingstoke (5-2), Milton Keynes (4-1), Sheffield (3-1) and recorded emphatic victories over North Ayr (8-0), Bracknell (10-1) and Solent and Gosport (11-0) on their way to the final.

The final was a much tighter affair but Valley still ran out 2-1 winners over Milton Keynes.

Captain Zach Milton scored 13 goals on Lee Valley's way to the title, with Nathan Awoyemi bagging ten, Toby Christie and Alfie Mason-Chable seven, Cameron Lynagh four and Juha Lindgren and Kayne Joeseph scored one each.

Lindgren, Lynagh, Marcus Cyrille and Joe Harmon were also impressive in defence.

The Development side, which is made up of younger and less experienced players, came fourth in their tournament., which included sides from across the country.

Captain Marcell Cyrille and Lyall Mead led the way with two goals each. Theo Rangarajan and Ryan Kozic also scored their first goals.

Manager Charlene Valerie said: “Overall it was an amazing experience for the kids, they are future stars to keep an eye on. Every player should be proud.”
