Epping finished their campaign with a 90-run defeat at home to promoted Belhus in Essex Division Three.

The hosts inserted Belhus but struggled to make inroads into their batting line-up, taking the first wicket with 44 runs posted.

Belhus’ scoring was unspectacular but consistent as they reached 208 before being dismissed.

Carl Ginn was the pick of the bowling attack, returning figures of four for 30, while Yaqoob Khushi took three for 40.

Jacob Ellis (35) top-scored for Epping in their reply but they were in trouble early on when Tauseef Rahman (13) fell with just 15 runs posted.

Ellis’ knock was not enough to prevent defeat as the hosts were skittled for 118.

Rock-bottom Ongar completed their miserable season with a six-wicket defeat at Billericay, who narrowly missed out on promotion.

The visitors batted first but were unable to set an imposing score, finding themselves dismissed for 167.

In reply, the home side lost just four wickets as they raced to their target for a trouble-free victory.

A high-scoring affair saw hosts Old Parkonians overcome Woodford Green by just eight runs.

After winning the toss, Parkonians elected to bat and made the most of their decision, excelling to reach 315 for the loss of five wickets.

Hermes Solomonides proved to be the backbone of the tally with a superb knock of 127 as Green were faced with an uphill battle.

The visitors made Parkonians work for their victory however, coming agonisingly close to what seemed an unlikely win before their final wicket fell with 307 runs on the board.

Mid-table West Essex suffered a five-wicket loss in their home fixture with Benfleet.

The hosts had opted to bat but a collection of single-figure scores meant they were unable to set a big target.

Benfleet had them dismissed for 170 before racing to their target in the 33rd over for the loss of five wickets.
