Waltham Forest moved up to second in the table after coming from behind to beat strugglers Maldon & Tiptree 3-2.

The visitors raced into a 2-0 lead early on, looking deadly from set-pieces by converting two free kicks.

Josh Green was penalised for handball after 12 minutes to allow Dave Collins to convert before Aaron Omand was cautioned shortly after, with Ross Wall heading in the resulting free kick.

Forest were thrown a lifeline on 34 minutes when Manu Dagher was brought down in the penalty area with the referee pointing to the spot.

Jeff Hammond converted from 12 yards but Forest soon appeared to be facing an uphill struggle again.

Green was issued with a second yellow card following a cynical foul but the decision seemed only to serve to motivate ten-man Forest.

With 15 minutes to play, Dagher levelled the match having been gifted time to bring the ball under control and fire into the net but the hosts were not done yet.

They were awarded another penalty on 83 minutes when Hammond was brought down in the area. Having dusted himself off, he was able to convert to secure three points for the home side.
