Having jumped into the top half of the League One table for the first time this season, Orient will be looking to climb even higher when they entertain Colchester United on Saturday.
The reverse fixture saw Orient pick up just their second point of the campaign when Jimmy Smith netted deep into injury time, and Russell Slade’s side have since overtaken the U’s in the division.
Colchester will arrive looking for their first three points of 2012, with John Ward’s side suffering from a disappointing run of form.
United’s last five games have seen them claim one win and one draw, while they have suffered defeat three times – including a 6-1 home hammering at the hands of Stevenage.
The O’s meanwhile will be looking for their first three points at home in the New Year, having already enjoyed success at both Stevenage and Preston but being held to a draw when Chesterfield came to E10.
Recent meetings between the two sides have seen both enjoy success, with last season’s clashes ending in home victories.
In the previous campaign, the U’s did the double over Orient and the visitors will no doubt be looking for another three points as they bid to bounce back from an unexpected loss to bottom side Chesterfield at the weekend.
