Chingford racing talent Adam Butler is set to hit the USA this year to compete in the Star Mazda Championship.

After signing a multiyear sponsorship deal with the Watergeeks, Team Stange Racing owner John Stange decided that Butler would front the outfit and drive the fully branded machine throughout the 2012 Star Mazda Championship Road to Indy tour.

"We are very pleased to announce that Adam will be joining us this season, we welcome him to the team with open arms and believe that he will contest for the Championship," said Stange.

Team Stange Racing and the WaterGeeks finalised the agreement at the conclusion of the International Home and House wares show in Chicago, Illinois, USA. A full scale WaterGeeks branded Race car was on view to the public throughout the four day show alongside their new water filtration bottles.

Butler said: "I am extremely excited to make my way to the USA to compete this season, I want to make my team and my sponsors proud of me. I know that TSR will provide me with a good car and the engineering department is second to none. I would like to take the opportunity to thank John at ‘TSR’, Brent at the ‘WaterGeeks’ and everyone who has helped bring this deal together."

The racer will be arriving in Chicago early next month to begin preparation for his debut alongside the Indy500 at the Lucas Oil Raceway in May. Sponsorship opportunities are still available in time for his debut with the Indy500. Any interested parties should contact him directly by emailing adamj.butler@virgin.net
