Spurs pair Ledley King and Emmanuel Adebayor are both injury doubts ahead of tonight’s match with Stoke City.

Tottenham return to action for the first time since Saturday’s match with Bolton Wanderers was abandoned after Trotters midfielder Fabrice Muamba suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch.

Harry Redknapp has said any of his players who do not feel in the right frame of mind to play will be excused from tonight’s encounter at White Hart Lane, but he has called on those involved to secure maximum points against the Potters.

Spurs will be desperate to get back to winning ways as well, having lost their last three matches in the Premier League.

Victory would ensure they remain third in the table in their quest to finish as the highest placed London side for the first time since 1995.

With both Arsenal and Chelsea also in action tonight, a win could be vital for the Lilywhites and Redknapp is looking for his side to secure three points.

The manager told the club’s website: “We have had a run of not good results, but they have not been bad performances.

“We are not playing badly, but we need a result and want to be in form.

“If we don’t win, then things are really getting a bit tight. It has closed up and we have to make sure we try to pick up three points.”
