Stoke boss Tony Pulis believes everyone in football was affected by events at White Hart Lane on Saturday when Fabrice Muamba collapsed on the pitch.

The 23-year-old Bolton Wanderers midfielder suffered a heart attack 41 minutes into his side’s FA Cup clash with Spurs.

Paramedics fought for two hours to get the father-of-one’s heart beating again and he has since been making a steady recovery in hospital.

Players from both teams as well as the match officials wore ‘Get Well Soon Fabrice’ t-shirts prior to tonight’s game.

When asked if he felt Tottenham were suffering from the events of Saturday, Pulis said: “I think everybody suffered from the events on Saturday I don’t think it was just Tottenham.

“I think everyone has embraced what happened to Fabrice – our players, Tottenham’s players, everybody.

“It’s run right through everyone in football whether it’s in England or outside England.”

Tottenham scored a stoppage time equaliser to avoid a fourth consecutive league defeat but Pulis was pleased with his side’s performance.

He added: “We’re very, very pleased with the effort the lads have put in on the back of such tough games against Liverpool and against Chelsea.

“To put in a performance like that today is testament to what the team is all about – a very, very hard working group of players who just give everything for one another.”
