The agent of Bongani Khumalo has admitted the Spurs defender might have to go out on loan again next season in order to break into the first team at White Hart Lane.

South African Khumalo arrived at the north London club in January last year but has yet to make a first team appearance for Harry Redknapp’s side.

The 25-year-old has spent time on loan with Preston North End and Reading as well as featuring on the bench for the Premier League matches with Newcastle United and Liverpool in February.

But his agent, Matt Kleinman, has admitted Khumalo might have to seek first team football elsewhere again.

“It’s going to be very difficult to get into the Spurs team but Bongani has absolute faith in his own ability,” he told KickOff.com.

“He’s still relatively young and it was always going to take a little bit of time to move on to the next level. Maybe he will go out on loan, who knows? That’s very much down to Spurs and how he gets on over the next couple of months and in pre-season.”
