Buckhurst Hill managed a draw with Brentwood in the Essex Premier League.

Hill started well, after being put into bat, with an opening partnership of 57 before Russell Becket wasdismissed for 34.

Todd Astle batted on to make his third half-century in as many games and was ably assisted by Ian Russell (34) and Edward Buxton (31). The highlight of the innings was Josh Peters' 98 not out off just 80 balls.

Brentwood started well in reply, reaching 95 for one in no time. Spinners were introduced and the game swayed back in the favour of Buckhurst Hill with seven wickets falling for just 88 runs, reducing Brentwood to 187 for eight.

However the side managed to bat out the last ten overs to rescue a draw. Pick of the bowlers was the in-form Todd Astle, who finished with figures of five for 35 off 18.

Buckhurst Hill Thirds drew with Ardleigh Green Thirds in Division Two.

Batting first, they scored an excellent 230 for eight with the highlights coming from Atul Sharma (107) and Aniket Patel (52).

Ardleigh Green managed to bat through the innings to secure the draw, despite the best efforts of Buckhurst Hill with Ali Azad producing great bowling figures of five for 22, with a total of 118 for nine.

The Fourths maintained their 100 per cent record with a win over Harlow Town Fourths in Division Two.

The visitors won the toss and decided to bat first, but were restricted to 131 in 52 overs by the Bucks' usual standard of very high quality bowling and fielding.

In reply, Buckhurst Hill achieved the set target in only 20 overs, with opening batsman Shaid Mohammed scoring 80 not out.
