Buckhurst Hill had the better of their draw at Shenfield in the Essex Premier Division.

The visitors were put into bat and opener Russell Beckett hit a stunning century. The batsman struck 126 off 135 balls including seven sixes. Ian Russell scored 27 and Jamie Allen was unbeaten on 29 while there were solid contributions from Ed Buxton (34) and Raymond Parkinson (35). This form helped take Buckhurst Hill to an impressive declaration of 291 for seven.

Shenfield never looked like reaching the target and were eventually relieved to finish up with a draw on 221 for eight. Todd Astle was the pick of the bowlers with six for 47 but the away side were unable to find the last two wickets for victory.

Buckhurst Hill Seconds defeated Hadleigh & Thundersley by ten wickets in Division One.

The openers Shahid Mann and Dan Platt restricted the top order early on.

A partnership in the middle gave Hadleigh hope but they were pegged back to 173 for nine from their innings.

Hill openers Ricky Reynolds and Haroon Khan got off to a good start passing 50 without loss. Khan really went on the attack and managed to bring up his first century for the club (102 not out). The pair ended up knocking off the target comfortably without loss in the 33rd over.

Buckhurst Hill Thirds eased to a nine-wicket win over Billericay in Division Two.

Batting first, Billericay scored 131 for nine with Ali Azad taking seven for 39.

In reply, Buckhurst Hill scored the required 132 in 16.5 overs for the loss of only one wicket. Hayden Gayle (52 not out) and Atul Sharma (53 not out) provided the batting highlights.

Buckhurst Hill Fourths defeated Billericay by 117 runs to maintain their 100 per cent record in Division Two.

The toss was won by the home side and they decided to bat first with both openers hitting top form. Shaid Mohammed scored 138 not-out and captain Ash Mohammed (54) helped set a target of 258 for the loss of five wickets.

Billericay were bowled out for a 141 after a fine showing in the bowling and fielding department.
