Dan Fogg finished eighth in the 1500m freestyle at the Aquatic Centre this evening.
The Chingford swimmer completed the gruelling event in a time of 15.00.76, slower than his effort in the heats meaning he could only take last place.
China’s Sun Yang claimed the gold in a new world record time of 14.31.02.
Former Waltham Forest Gators competitor Fogg will now focus on the 10k open water event which takes place in The Serpentine, Hyde Park, next week.
