KAZAKHSTAN caretaker boss Bernd Storck insists Theo Walcott is on the same level as Lionel Messi.
Storck was in the stands when the Arsenal winger tormented the Croatia defence on his way to a sublime hat-trick during England's 4-1 victory.
And based on that evidence, the Kazakhstan coach believes Walcott has all the attributes to become a world beater.
“I’ve seen a lot of games in my career and I was at the Croatia game,” he said.
“What I saw of Walcott there was unbelievable. He’s like Messi was at that age – a very fine player.”
The 19-year-old looks set to retain his place on the right for the home game against Kazakhstan, with Manchester City's Shaun Wright-Phillips likely to come in on the left, following the injury to Joe Cole.
