NICKLAS Bendtner could make his first start in three months for Arsenal when they take on Manchester United at Emirates Stadium today (Sunday).

The Dane could step in for the injured Eduardo, who strained his hamstring in the goalless draw with Aston Villa in midweek.

Bendtner made an impressive cameo appearance in his first game back from a groin injury at Villa Park and he could be the man Arsene Wengert turns to to lead the line alongside Andrey Arshavin, with Theo Walcott, Tomas Rosicky and Samir Nasri all vying for a place in the line-up.

Alex Song is back for the Gunners after Cameroon's exit from the African Cup of Nations, while Emmanuel Eboue also returns following the Ivory Coast's departure.

Sol Campbell looks set to replace Thomas Vermaelen at the heart of the defence after the Belgian suffered a leg injury during the draw with Villa.

Manchester United will be missing Rio Ferdinand, who begins his four match ban for elbowing Hull striker Craig Fagan.
