Gunners target looks set to leave Lyon
Hatem Ben Arfa
Hatem Ben Arfa

ARSENAL target Hatem Ben Arfa could be on his way out of French side Lyon after the club's chairman Jean-Michel Aulas said they would listen to offers for the player.

The Gunners would face stiff competition from Marseilles for the exciting youngster's signature, but Aulas' admission will no doubt have been noted by Arsene Wenger.

"If Marseilles contacted us for Hatem, would we be ready to let him go?" Aulas asked in France-Football.

"I answer why not. Marseilles are a big club where Hatem could prove himself as well as abroad.

"The idea to see him express himself in France would suit me more as it would be a good thing for Ligue 1.

"I am not closing any door. No discussion has been started with (Marseille chairman) Pape Diouf about that and I have never discussed it with Hatem."

The 21-year-old attacker is understood to be frustrated by the lack of opportunities under manager Alain Perrin at Stade Gerland and Wenger has made it public knowledge that he is a fan of the player.
