Adebayor rumoured to want more cash to stay with Gunners

ARSENAL star Emmanuel Adebayor is reported to have demanded £80,000 a week to stay at the club.

The Togo international (pictured) is currently on a deal worth £35,000 after signing a contract last year with the Gunner.

But it is understood the striker wants to be recognised alongside some of the Premier League's best players.

The 24-year-old's agent Stephane Courbis said: "Now is not the time to talk about his contract. We'll wait until next week."

Adebayor has bagged 30 goals for the Gunners this season, but after Wenger refused to yield to Mathieu Flamini's wage demands, it is unlikely that he will change club policy to accommodate the 6ft 3in forward.
