Departing Gunners keeper ready to carry on
Jens Lehmann
Jens Lehmann

JENS LEHMANN has admitted he is excited by the prospect of playing for Bundesliga side Stuttgart when he leaves Arsenal this summer.

Lehmann will call time on his five years with the Gunners, and after much speculation linking him with a move to Stuttgart, the Germany international revelaed he could see himself at the Gottleib-Daimler Stadium.

"If I were to continue my career, I think I could do it there (in Stuttgart)," Lehmann told German paper Bild.

"They are a club who belong at the top of the Bundesliga."

Stuttgart general manager Heldt Horst confirmed that they have held talks with Lehmann, but nothing official has been agreed.

Current club keeper Raphael Schaefer has endured a torrid time between the sticks since arriving from Nurnberg and with suggestions that he will leave at the end of the season, the door could be open for Lehmann to step in.
