Third XI Premier Division

Wanstead & Snaresbrook Thirds beat lowly Chelmsford Thirds by two wickets to stay top of the table.

Opting to field first, Wanstead’s Mehad Khan bowled superbly to take five for 35 in 22 overs as Chelmsford declared on 171 for six.

Wanstead reached their target in 29 overs with Karan Singh (39), Mohammed Shahriyar (35) and Khan (36) all contributing.

Wanstead Thirds are away on Saturday to Fives & Heronians Thirds.

South Woodford Thirds were held to a draw by bottom-of-the-table Hutton Thirds.

Batting first, Woodford’s total of 242 was led by Jamie Caroll’s magnificent 136, which included six sixes and 14 fours.

Hutton batted sensibly in reply and finished on 167 for six. Adam Overton and Nikhil Dattani took two wickets apiece.

South Woodford Thirds are at home to Woodford Wells Thirds on Saturday.

Two centuries saw Woodford Wells Thirds beat lowly Fives & Heronians Thirds with ease to keep pace with the top two.

Iain Wilson (103) and Peter McDermott (116 not out) piled on the runs for Wells, helping their team to an imposing total of 345 declared.

Fives’ bowlers struggled to make inroads but Wang Jing and Uzair Babar took two wickets each.

It was a spirited effort with the bat too from Fives who reached 220 in reply, with Jing contributing 51, but the target was too great.

Wells’ Max Anderson and Samraj Sadra took three wickets each.

Woodford Wells Thirds are away to South Woodford Thirds on Saturday, while Fives Thirds host Wanstead & Snaresbrook Thirds.

Third XI Division One

Wanstead & Snaresbrook Fourths are clinging to the coat tails of league leaders Buckhurst Hill Thirds after beating Chelmsford Fourths by 32 runs.

Batting first, Wanstead were bowled out for 147 with Asif Majid top-scoring on 33.

Their modest total was however good enough to hold off Chelmsford, who were skittled for 115.

Abubakar Janjua was the pick of the Wanstead attack, taking four for 33.

Wanstead Fourths are at home on Saturday to Hornchurch Thirds.

Buckhurst Hill Thirds remain top after beating Hornchurch Thirds by seven wickets.

Hornchurch were put into bat and managed 140 as Shahid Maan and Daniel Golding took two wickets each.

Buckhurst eased to victory though, as Kalathinkal Sreejesh (55 not out) and Maan (38 not out) sealed the win.

Buckhurst Hill Thirds are away to Chingford Thirds on Saturday.

Chingford Thirds suffered a disappointing defeat to Gidea Park & Romford Thirds.

Choosing to bat first, Chingford posted 174 with David Terrace scoring freely for 48.

What looked like a competitive total was made to look light as Gidea Park reached the target with just one wicket lost.

Chingford Thirds are at home to Buckhurst Hill Thirds on Saturday.

Old Parkonians Thirds drew with Wickford.

Adam Deller (63) and Philip Jones’ (58) partnership was the highlight of Parks’ total of 111 for eight.

Wickford were bowled out for 212 with Qais Khan taking five for 32.

Third XI Division Two

West Essex Thirds beat Old Southendian & Southchurch at home by two wickets.

Conor Rowland ripped through the away team’s batting order, ending with impressive figures of seven for 35 as they were dismissed for 148.

Despite West Essex losing their first few wickets cheaply, Azhar Ali (34) and Omar Afzal (41) steadied the ship and ensured a victory for the home team.

West Essex Thirds host Loughton Thirds on Saturday.

Third XI Division Three

South Woodford Fourths beat Hutton Fourths by five wickets.

South Woodford bowled first with Gordon Clarke and Carl Edmonds claiming four wickets each as Hutton were dismissed for 88.

In reply, South Woodford cruised to victory with five wickets to spare.

South Woodford Fourths take on Loughton Fourths on Saturday.

Third XI Division Three

Loughton Fourths were left two wickets short of victory as they drew away to Westcliff-On-Sea Thirds.

Loughton declared after 45 overs on 300 for six.

This was more than enough but Westcliff, who finished on 136, refused to be beaten and had two wickets remaining at the close.

Loughton Fourths are at home on Saturday to South Woodford Fourths.

Fourth XI Premier Division

Wanstead & Snaresbrook Fifths recorded a comfortable win over Pegasus & Corringham Thirds.

Pegasus were bowled out for 177 with Finlay Chesney-Brown taking four for 32.

In reply, early wickets set nerves jangling but Naail Dar (56 not out) and Asif Khan (63 not out) steered the Herons to victory.

Wanstead Fifths are at home on Saturday to Chingford Fourths.

Chingford Fourths beat Basildon & Pitsea Thirds by 12 runs.

Basildon chose to bowl first which seemed a wise decision as their opponents were bowled out cheaply for 124.

But Chingford bowled excellently and dismissed Basildon for 112 to secure victory.

Sourabh Datar took three for 24.

Fourth XI Division One

In the battle between the top two teams in the league, Buckhurst Hill Fourths thrashed Chelmsford Fifths by nine wickets.

Chelmsford managed 148 as Mark Wheeler bowled well to take five for 35.

Buckhurst barely broke sweat in reply, losing one wicket en route to victory.

Ashley Brand (76 not out) and Daniel Parkinson (36 not out) were both left standing at the end.

Buckhust Hill Fourths are at home to Fives & Heronians Fourths on Saturday.

Wanstead & Snaresbrook Sixths drew with Shenfield Fourths.

Wanstead posted 241 with Raja Usman left unbeaten on 89.

Usman then took two wickets, as did Sam McGrath, as Shenfield were dismissed for 177.

Wanstead Sixths are at home on Saturday to Chelmsford Fifths.

Fives & Heronians Fourths were beaten by Horndon on the Hill Thirds.

Deciding to bowl, Fives restricted Horndon to 194 all out with Roger Braithwaite taking four for 41.

Fives however, were off form with the bat and were skittled for 87.

Fives Fourths play Buckhurst Hill Fourths away on Saturday.

Fourth XI Division Three

The mid-table clash in Division Three between South Woodford Fifths and Hutton Fifths ended with the spoils shared.

South Woodford’s Zahid Hafeez scored an excellent 144 en route to a total of 213.

This was too much for Hutton, who finished on 179 for four.

Chingford Fifths beat Old Southendian & Southchurch Fifths by four wickets.

Southendian were dismissed for 65, which their opponents reached with four wickets in hand.

Chingford Fifths travel to Hainault & Clayhall Fifths on Saturday.

Old Parkonians Fourths drew with Hainault & Clayhall Fifths.

Parks posted 154 thanks in part to Tony Keen, who scored 64.

Hainault only reached 139 in their 43 overs but held on to two of their wickets to secure a draw.

Nimanka De Silva was the most potent of the Parks attack, recording figures of three for 26.
