New Shrews signing likely to face Daggers
Graeme Lee

SHREWSBURY will be hoping new defender Graeme Lee will help them to victory in Saturday's relegation battle with Dagenham.

New boss Paul Simpson has recruited Lee on a month's loan from Doncaster Rovers, with an eye on the experience he believes the ex-Sheffield Wednesday men can bring to the club's league campaign.

"He's a captain-type player with the experience under his belt that we need in our young squad," Simpson told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"He's played over 300 games at senior level, he's been involved in promotions, and he'll freshen up the side.

"He's a player I've seen a fair bit over the years and he'll give us extra options in defence."

Lee is likely to go straight into Simpson's squad for the trip to Victoria Road.

Shrewsbury have amassed just two points more than the Dagger's so far this season, less than might be expected after they beat John Still's side 4-0 in December.
