(Coca Cola League Two)

DAGENHAM battled their way to a precious point at home to play-off-chasing Rochdale.

Dale opened the scoring against the run of play after sustained pressure from Daggers.

Kallum Higginbotham pounced on a long punt by keeper Tommy Lee and rifled a shot past Tony Roberts on 28 minutes.

But Daggers hit back as Anwar Uddin ran at Dale's defence and released Ben Strevens on 33 minutes.

The striker finished clinically into the top corner for his 13th league goal of the season.

Both sides could have won the contest in the second-half.

Substitute Chris Dagnall's effort for Dale was saved by Roberts.

And Dagenham could have snatched the points at the death when Glen Southam poked a Shane Huke cross just wide of the post.

Daggers are now four points above the drop zone with just three games to play.

Dag & Red: Roberts, Huke, Uddin, Arber, Griffiths, Nurse, Rainford, Gain, Southam, Benson, Strevens. Unused subs: Hogan, Sloma, Boardman, Saunders, Taiwo.
