DOMINIC Green is leaving Dagenham and Redbridge within a week of the transfer deadline despite having played only a handful of games for the club.
The talented 19-year-old winger has started just four League Two games and has made ten appearances coming off the bench for the east Londoners.
He scored his first senior goal for Daggers when they routed Chester City 6-0 on the opening day of the season.
A statement on the club’s website confirmed Green’s departure to an unnamed club believed to be in League One.
The statement does not confirm how much the tranfser fee is, but states the club will receive 'realistic compensation'.
Green travelled to meet the unnamed club while Dagenham drew with Port Vale at Victoria Road on Saturday.
Daggers boss John Still said: "Dominic is one of those players who is exciting and can influence a game.
"He showed against Chester what he can do with a free kick and it doesn’t surprise me of the interest.
"A number of clubs have spoken to me about him but only one has, in my opinion, been realistic."
Still added that he is unlikely to bring in a player of similar calibre to Green, and hinted that he may have to be patient for any new signings to adjust.
"I may be able to replace him with someone that might become as good as Green. So that’s what we’ll be doing," he said.
"I certainly won’t be rushing out to buy a replacement for Green but I will be having a meeting with the club this week and we’ll talk about what we need to do."
Meanwhile, Still pointed out that there had been no offers for either Glen Southam or Scott Griffiths.
Southam has been on the transfer list at his own request since June, and has reportedly been linked with a move to Championship outfit Coventry City.
The midfielder has not featured in the first team at all so far but Still hinted that could be about to change.
Full back Griffiths is believed to have attracted interest from Championship outfit Reading, who narrowly beat Daggers in the Carling Cup last week.
