DAGENHAM and Redbridge assistant boss Terry Harris has called on the team to cut out the errors following Saturday’s defeat at Brentford.
The Daggers were well worthy of more at Griffin Park, but uncharacteristic mistakes cost the team at least a point.
And Harris said: “The defeat was a bit of a set-back and was self-inflicted.
"Their goal came from our corner which never happens as far as we concerned because we pride ourselves oin being orgainsed. It caused our downfall.
“Apart from that we were a little bit unlucky but that first defeat was always going to happen.
"Now we have got to pick ourselves up, go through all the bits and pieces and go again at Chesterfield, which is another hard game.”
His rallying call was echoed by skipper Anwar Uddin.
"The difference was a couple of uncharacteristic mistakes. When you play against good teams they will punish you," Uddin told BBC Essex after the game.
"At this level, if you want to be in and around the top of the table, you have to be spot-on.
"For a second we lacked that bit of awareness and we got punished."
The defeat against the Bees was Daggers’ first of an otherwise impressive start to the League Two season.
Although it is a far cry from last season’s run-in with relegation, Harris is not getting carried away.
“We’ve done very well, and played particularly well at Lincoln and Morecambe, but it was disappointing against Brentford,” he added.
“We know where we fell down and have got to work hard to put it right this week and make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
