Daggers boss Still routing for the Bees

11:19am Monday 13th October 2008

DAGENHAM and Redbridge boss John Still admits he is still routing for former club Barnet - unless they're playing his side.

Still had a five-year spell as manager and director of football with the Underhill outfit between 1997 and 2002.

And, speaking after his Daggers earned a comfortable 2-0 win over Paul Fairclough's troops on Friday night, said: "I do feel for them. I really do want them to do well - when we're not playing them.

"I've still got many friends at Barnet, including chairman Tony Kleanthous."

Still was particularly delighted with his side's performance at Victoria Road as goals from Matt Ritchie and Ben Strevens lifted the east Londoners up to second in the League Two table.

"Local derbies are always tough, but we were terrific in the second half. On another day, we might have had more," he said.
