DAGENHAM & Redbridge assistant boss Terry Harris admitted his side were guilty of a lack of discipline during their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Shrewsbury on Saturday.
The Daggers took the lead thanks to a rasping 20 yard drive from striker Paul Benson after just six minutes. But seven minutes later the Shrews drew level through Dave Hibbert, the striker finding the net for a fifth consecutive game. An acrobatic effort from Steve Leslie on the stroke of half-time completed the comeback, and there was more misery for the visitors when Scott Doe saw red for using an elbow.
Harris was rueful after the defeat, that leaves the Daggers occupying the final League Two play-off place, having dropped from third. “The first ten minutes were fantastic, to be honest I though the first 15 or 20 minutes were OK and Paul Benson scored a fantastic goal,” he told BBC Essex.
“I felt for the 15 or 20 minutes after we scored we stopped doing the things that we preach and let in two bad goals, from our point of view.”
