Keeper Chris Lewington sensationally denied Dean Cox a late winner as this terrific FA Cup round one tie ended in deadlock.

The keeper deflected wide Cox's close range shot on 82 minutes, after Alex Revell crossed in from out wide.

It was part of an action packed late spell.

Jimmy Smith blazed over for the O's, followed soon afterwards by Romain Vincelot for the hosts.

All the goal action was in first-half injury time.

Revell blasted the visitors ahead on 45 minutes from close range in a penalty area scramble.

But Danny Green hit back instantly for Daggers.

He placed a peach of a free kick in the net from a tight angle outside the box.

Keeper Lee Butcher was beaten at his near post.

The game sizzled throughout even without a flurry of chances after the goals.

But it was a hard-fought derby played in a good spirit.

It only over-boiled once, when Cox and Ogogo clashed near the corner flag.

Playmaker Danny Green was at the heart of almost everything good the hosts did.

Meanwhile, Cox and Revell in the O's midfield gave Damien McCrory and Abu Ogogo a hard time throughout the match.

This tie had all the passion of a local derby. Bas Savage and John Nurse worked hard without reward up top for the hosts.

Jonathan Téhoué had the same trouble with Revell behind him in midfield.

Scott McGleish replaced him later and struggled to make an impact.

In the first half, Green's goal-bound effort was blocked by a last-gasp lunge 22 minutes Orient started at a high tempo with Revell in the action early, before Daggers got a grip on the tie.

Matt Spring just missed out for the O's when he dived in to meet Cox's cross inside the six-yard box, after neat link-up play between him and Dawson on the flank.

After the break, Jimmy Smith spurned a golden chance soon by blazing over the bar from eight yards after Elliot Omozusi cut back a pass from the by-line.

Then Green totally sliced apart Orient's back line on 55 minutes with a peach of a pass, but Nurse was not fast enough to beat the on-rushing Butcher.

Orient were desperate to grab back bragging rights held by Daggers after they won last time.

Now the pair can reprise their rivalry in the replay on Tuesday November 16 at the Matchroom Stadium.
