Gills confirm Tomlin interest (From East London and West Essex Guardian Series)

Gillingham have confirmed their interest in Dagenham & Redbridge striker Gavin Tomlin

Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler has confirmed his interest in Dagenham & Redbridge forward Gavin Tomlin.

The 28-year-old is expected to leave Victoria Road this month despite appearing in 15 of the Daggers 24 league games.

Tomlin spent the back end of last season on loan at Torquay United, scoring four goals in 15 matches.

However, he has failed to find the net in this campaign and Hessenthaler told the Gillingham’s website: "He (Tomlin) was spoken about a few weeks back, I liked him at Torquay last season.

"His agent has spoken to me but I haven't spoken to John Still about him. Gavin Tomlin is Dagenham's player and that's it at the moment."
