1:10pm Sunday 15th January 2012 in Daggers
Dagenham & Redbridge’s seven game unbeaten run came to an end after a disappointing 1-0 home defeat against Hereford United.
Yoann Arquin scored the only goal of the game, heading home past Chris Lewington in the first half.
It was a match of little goalmouth action although Mickey Spillane came close on 25 minutes with a header.
However, Hereford looked the more likely to score in the opening 45 minutes and the Bulls took the lead from a corner.
Joe Colbeck whipped the ball in and Arquin escaped his marker to head in from six yards.
John Still’s Daggers responded to going behind and Cristian Montano, who has extended his loan for an indefinite period, came close to levelling with a shot that was well saved by Adam Bartlett.
The second period saw Hereford defend well as they looked to secure an important three points. Delroy Facey was close to extending the visitors lead with a shot from distance which required Lewington to save well.
Late pressure from the Daggers lead to their best chance of the game as a cross into the box from Abu Ogogo was flicked on towards goal by Eoin Wearen.
Unfortunately for the Daggers fans his attempt went wide and the game ended in defeat for Still’s side.
