CHINGFORD were just edged out by Wanstead on the opening day of the season last week but Sam Kirnon believes his side can bounce back with a derby win over South Woodford, who they have not faced for years.
"It will be the first time we've played them in the Premier League and we are looking forward to another hard-fought derby match," Kirnon said.
"I'm sure if we show the same fighting spirit we did against Wanstead and put pressure on them from the start then we will have every chance of winning."
Chingford have one of the youngest teams in the league, with an average age of just 23, but captain Kirnon insists they are serious contenders for the league.
"We are still a young side, but while we want to show people that Chingford is an up and coming club, we also want to show that we aren't here to just make up the numbers as well."
