It's all change at Epping as leading man Sibley moves on
Dan Sibbley, who will be a big loss to Epping this season
Dan Sibbley, who will be a big loss to Epping this season

EPPING only managed five wins from 18 games in the league last year and their woes were compounded by the departure of top run scorer Dan Sibbley, who moved to Loughton.

However, Essex county players Dean and Dan Majeed have joined the revolution, while wicketkeeper Jason Whiting, Iffy Raja and all-rounder Amjad Khan have also climbed on-board.

Khan has opened his Epping account with impressive knocks of 73, 68 and 73 in the side's pre-season fixtures and captain Majeed is delighted with his new recruits.

"These players will make all the difference," he said.

"There was a lack of availability last year and we wanted to make sure that wasn't the case this time.

"Dan's (Sibling) departure was a blow for us but we have players here who want to play. We need to get into the habit of winning as quickly as possible."

The team will get a chance to do just that with a opening day local derby match with Old Parkonians on Saturday.

Just six points separated the two sides last season and Majeed has braced himself for a tough start to the campaign.

He said: "We finished close together last season so hopefully we can get the better of them and get off to a good start."
