In-form Loughton look to keep ground with the leaders

5:49pm Thursday 3rd July 2008

LOUGHTON will be aiming to remain the only undefeated team in the division this Saturday when they face a home fixture against Southend-on-Sea.

Mike Hughes' men produced another fantastic display last week when they comprehensively beat Old Southendians by six wickets to charge up the table, into third position.

The men from The Uplands lie just 11 points behind leaders Harlow and another victory will have the side dreaming of promotion as the half-way stage of the season approaches.

They will be facing a team that are rooted to the bottom of the table with a solitary win to their names.

However, last weekend the Seasiders produced their best display of the season when they thrashed Harold Wood by 60 runs.

This convincing win is enough proof that Southend will be no pushovers and Hughes will have to ensure that his team remain focused as they search for their fifth win in a row.
