WEST HAM are poised to make a move for Sunderland defender and former Hammer Anton Ferdinand, according to reports.

The News of the World claim that Gianfranco Zola is preparing a £2million offer for the 24-year-old, who left Upton Park for the North East last year.

It is understood that new Black Cats boss Steve Bruce is willing to listen to offers for Ferdinand, and Zola is reportedly keen to bolster his defence by making him his second capture of the summer, following the arrival of Luis Jiminez from Inter Milan last week.
