LEYTON Orient signed off the League One season with a flourish, thumping relegated Plymouth Argyle 4-1 on Saturday.
The O’s, who had already missed out on a play-off place, ended the campaign with a convincing win to finish one point behind sixth-placed Bournemouth.
Scott McGleish converted from the spot in the 13th minute after Curris Nelson had handled Matt Spring’s effort.
Dean Cox curled home a delicious free-kick for the second two minutes later.
Former Barnet winger Yannick Bolasie crashed home a goal for the hosts just after the hour mark, but it proved to be little more than a consolation.
Romain Larrieu, Plymouth’s keeper, was sent off for handling outside the area, and striker Alex Revell came off the bench to find the net from the resulting free-kick.
He then got on the end of Charlie Daniels’ cross to complete the scoring.
