NEW West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is eager to bolster his squad with the signings of Newcastle midfielder Kevin Nolan and Blackpool striker DJ Campbell.
The Daily Telegraph claim Newcastle are unwilling to match Nolan’s demands of a five-year deal, and have instead offered him a two-year contract. That may open the door for Allardyce to swoop, as the manager has worked with the midfielder twice before, first at Bolton, and then at Newcastle.
Campbell is in demand after scoring 13 goals during Blackpool’s doomed Premier League campaign last term. There are understood to be several top division clubs interested in him, although he is thought to have a £1.25m buy-out clause in his contract, to be triggered in the event of relegation.
