CHIGWELL School's first team squad may have been upset about being knocked out of the ISFA National six-a-side Tournament, but they had their day brightened up after meeting Manchester United manager
Sir Alex Ferguson.
The local school did well to reach the last 16 of the national event held at St Bede's School, Manchester, on Sunday.
Chigwell got off to a great start beating Grange School but sadly suffered defeat against Millfield and Victoria College, Jersey, in the group section and were knocked out of the tournament in an nail-biting penalty shoot-out by St Bede's, Hailsham, in the last 16, despite the heroics of goalkeeper Steven Maxwell who saved a penalty in the shootout.
Influential Alex Gandhi was voted the Chigwell player of the tournament putting in some terrific performances and has received £2500 worth of driving lessons from a2om.
The Chigwell team rounded off a great day by meeting United's legendary manager Ferguson.
