JUNIOR FOOTBALL
Ridgeway Rovers 2
Potters Bar Town 1
(AET)
(Cheshunt League Cup Final U15s) RIDGEWAY U15s won an enthralling final against a very good Potters Bar side.
Potters Bar took the lead with 20 minutes from time.
Ridgeway made a couple of tactical changes and after good work from Danny Hearty and Joe Bricknell down the wing, the lively Jack Leachman smashed home a cross from five-yards.
With limbs tiring chances fell to both sides and keeper Jordan Archer kept Ridgeway in the match by saving well at the feet of oncoming forwards.
With time almost up a long ball down the middle was controlled by Danny Hearty who with great composure slotted it home to win the game.
This was a great final for the boys from Ridgeway and sadly it was their last game for the club.
Their record over the years has been outstanding since starting out at U7s having played 224 games winning 165 and losing just 42 and scoring over 950 goals.
The side had won two league championships, been league runners up twice, lifted the league cup on three occasions and been runners up twice.
