Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade is hoping his players can recover in time to perform at their best against Sheffield United on Saturday.

The O’s drew to Bristol City on Tuesday after being pegged back twice to earn a draw, after goals from first David Mooney and then Dean Cox.

And Slade is worried the fitness of his players might affect them on the weekend.

He said: “My only concern now is the recovery of the players in the short time before Saturday's game.

“It looks like Lloyd James has taken a bit of a calf strain so we have to be wary we recover in time and do everything we possibly can to be as strong as we can on Saturday.”

In their previous 29 meetings, Sheffield Utd have won the majority of games with 13, whilst Orient have beaten them nine times.

There has been seven draws between them in the past, and in their last outing in February earlier this year, the game ended 0-0.

Sheffield Utd have been in poor form this season and haven’t won in their last three games, with The Blades currently in the relegation places on 16 points.

But Slade admits that every game will be a test for his team, with the match this Saturday being no different.

“They're all big games, they're all cup finals, every week is a new challenge and you have to embrace it and enjoy them,” he said.
