Under pressure Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade has emerged as the shock favourite for the vacant Cardiff City job.

The odds on Slade replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjær as Cardiff manager were slashed from 33-1 today to as short as 1/3 with Sky Bet.

It would be no surprise if Slade was looking for a new club after being threatened with the axe this week at Brisbane Road.

The popular Orient manager was told he had one game to save his job after last weekend's defeat to Colchester United.

But after a 1-1 draw at Notts County on Tuesday night he held on to his position following talks with owner Francesco Becchetti.
