Mathieu Baudry insists the players are responsible for their problems on the pitch and will not use the managerial changes at Brisbane Road as an excuse.
Orient will go into November still looking for their first win at home this season and are only three points off the foot of the League 1 table.
Mauro Milanese took charge of his first game in last night's defeat to Preston and is the club's third manager this season but Baudry believes the players have to take responsibility for their struggles.
The French defender said: "It's not easy to be in the situation we're in. Every little detail is going the wrong way for us so we have to make things happen. It's not the manager that's going to come on the pitch and tell us so of course it's not the best situation but we're responsible for that."
Milanese has only had a few days to work with the team after being appointed as manager on Sunday night. Baudry thinks it will take a bit of time before he stamps his own authority on the Orient squad.
He said: "I didn't notice that much difference. We didn't have much time to work with him. It was only one session where he tried to make a few differences and we tried to respond to this as much as we could with the time we had.
"Once we have more time he’s going to maybe bring his own idea and stamp on the team. There's still continuity because we have Kevin Nugent here so it wasn't a massive change."
