Jay Beckford has received an England call-up: Simon O'Connor
Leyton Orient teenage forward Jay Beckford has been called up to the England Under-15 squad for their game in Northern Ireland on Friday.
Beckford has been offered a scholarship by the League One club and follows in the footsteps of keepers Charlie Grainger and Under-16 Sam Roach in receiving an England call.
Academy director Andy Edwards told the club website: "I’m delighted for Jay, it’s a fantastic achievement for him and I’m sure he will go there and impress.
"He fully deserves the opportunity and it’s great that at international level people are recognising the work we are doing here to produce young players."
