Leyton Orient chief executive Alessandro Angelieri insists new manager Fabio Liverani will be given the time to succeed and is a long-term appointment.

The Italian is the O's fourth manager already this season with Kevin Nugent and Mauro Milanese each only having no more than eight matches in charge.

But Liverani was handed a two and a half year contract and Angelieri is adamant the club's choice will be given time to stamp his authority on the team.

Liverani was only given seven matches in charge of Genoa last year but Orient have placed their faith in him as their long-term appointment.

Angelieri said: "In the last two or three months we waited for a good coach to stay with us in a long-term project. Fabio is the choice of the president because he has a contract for almost three years.

"He is the reason we asked Kevin Nugent before and Mauro Milanese after to act as a bridge and take charge whilst we made the decision.

"The project is to stay with us for some years because it is necessary to work well with the team. It is difficult for Fabio to have results in four or five games so it's necessary to have a project without deadlines. I think this is the best situation for a manager to work but you know football is crazy sometimes."
