Leyton Orient remain bottom of League One after losing 1-0 at home to Notts County this evening.

The O’s conceded the opening goal after 20 minutes when Balint Bajner’s strike deflected into the net.

But Orient could not muster an equaliser as their winless start to 2015 continued to leave them well adrift of safety in the battle to avoid relegation.

Orient handed a debut to Burnley goalkeeper Alex Cisak with the loan signing replacing Gary Woods.

Scott Cuthbert took over the captaincy with Nathan Clarke dropping to the bench in one of six changes to the side thrashed by Scunthorpe United.

Kevin Lisbie, David Mooney, Shane Lowry and Josh Wright all came into the team with Dean Cox dropping to the bench alongside the fit again Jobi McAnuff.

Elliot Omozusi, Darius Henderson and John Lundstram were all not included in the squad.

The hosts almost conceded in the opening minute when Garry Thompson raced through on goal but fired his low shot just past the post.

But the O’s went close shortly afterwards to opening the scoring when Mathieu Baudry’s back heel was cleared off the line.

The visitors struck the first blow of the match when Hungarian Bajner turned on the edge of the box and his shot took a deflection to deceive Cisak for the opening goal.

Orient almost grabbed a quick equaliser but Lowry clipped the top of the bar with his header.

Gary Sawyer fired in an ambitious long-range effort which was comfortably saved by veteran keeper Roy Carroll.

Chris Dagnall should have done better from a decent cross from Bradley Pritchard but the striker headed wide of the target.

Fabio Liverani sent his players out early as they warmed up five minutes before the second half got underway.

The fans voiced their disgust after 58 minutes when Liverani brought off Dagnall with Shaun Batt replacing him. A chorus of boos along with chants of ‘you don’t know what you’re doing’ rang out.

Orient made a second change which was much more popular with the crowd as Cox replaced Pritchard.

Mooney fired in a shot from outside the area but the strike curled wide of the far post.

Cox had a decent chance to level but he blasted his volley well over the bar for the O’s.

The hosts had another opportunity through Lisbie’s header but his effort was straight at Carroll.

Cox fired in another effort but his low shot was again comfortably saved by the visiting keeper.

Ryan Hedges was thrown on towards the end of the match as the Swansea winger replaced Mooney.

But the O's could not break down a very average Notts County side to leave them rooted to the bottom of the table.
