Leyton Orient boss Fabio Liverani accused Neil Eardley of a lack of respect after his loan spell was ended early.
The defender was ill last week but failed to notify the club before not turning up for training. Eardley returned to Birmingham City after making just one appearance for the O's.
Liverani, speaking via a translator, said: "Last Friday Eardley did not turn up at training because he wasn’t well but also without telling us what was going on.
"He just left and I think it was a lack of respect towards the manager and the squad. We decided mutually for him to return to Birmingham.”
