Leyton Orient owner Francesco Becchetti has compared manager Fabio Liverani to Roberto Mancini and insists the Italian is the right man for the job.

Liverani is under pressure after Orient have dropped to the bottom of League One since he was appointed as boss in December.

Becchetti has drawn comparisons with Liverani to former Manchester City boss Mancini and outlined he believes he will prove a success at Brisbane Road.

Becchetti told BBC London: "I remember when Mancini first came here he didn't have great success. But then as everyone has seen he won the Premier League. Let's give time to Liverani. I don't think language is going to be a barrier for him.

"I just think we have to give time like a lot of Italian people that came here to English football and won something and were really important. I think with time Liverani is the right man."
