Leyton Orient boss Fabio Liverani believes their last-minute win at Chesterfield is psychologically very important in their battle against relegation.

The O's climbed off the bottom of League One after Dean Cox's goal in the 101st minute of their 3-2 victory this afternoon.

Liverani, speaking via a translator, said: "I'm very proud and pleased with the performance. I was pleased actually with the performance last Tuesday [Notts County] but unfortunately the result wasn't right.

"Today the result was good and I think psychologically also it was very important because so far every situation that was 50 50 went wrong for us. It's been difficult psychologically for the players to accept it and today finally it went on our side.

"Today seemed to be another episode where everything went wrong and they totally didn't deserve to come out of it with another loss. The last minute goal was a bit like the icing on the cake and hopefully gives the players the confidence to continue playing like this and boost their experience."

There has been plenty of talk about divisions within the club and Liverani recently criticised his own players following the defeat to Scunthorpe United.

But the Italian manager insists he is happy with his squad and determined to keep any problems in the future in house.

Liverani said: "I've been in football for 20 years so I know the business well. It seems the problems only come out when things don't go well on the pitch. When you're first in the league these problems don't seem to exist.

"The bottom line is I'm pleased with the players and happy with the players. If we have problems we always keep them within us and solve them within us."
