Leyton Orient Under-18s moved top of Merit League Two after a convincing 5-0 win over Oxford United on Saturday.

The O’s opened the scoring midway through the half when captain Freddy Moncur netted his seventh goal of the season for Andy Edwards’ side. Scott Kashket sent in a cross and Moncur slid the ball in from close range.

It did not take long for the hosts to double their lead when Shola Oladipo finished off an attack that started inside his side’s their own half with Kashket again the provider.

Orient made it 3-0 when midfielder Sam Alderson volleyed home.

The young O’s were not finished and added a fourth soon after the restart.

Oxford conceded possession with a misplaced pass and striker Oladipo showed composure to fire home for his brace.

Orient netted the fifth goal after 49 minutes when Christian Owusu released Alderson and he scored for the second time in the game.

The victory extended Orient’s 100 per cent record with three victories in the competition ahead of their trip to Cheltenham Town this weekend.
