Leyton Orient boss Fabio Liverani admitted their 3-0 home win over Yeovil Town was very important in their battle to avoid relegation.

The O's remain 21st in League One but kept within touching distance of the sides above them after easing past bottom side Yeovil.

Liverani said: "I'm very happy for the team and for the good performance. It's very important for the rest of the season and we need to make sure we recover our fitness physically for our next match.

"The match was very important for me, the players and the club for this season."

Orient were far too strong for a woeful Yeovil team as they recorded their fourth win in the last seven games following goals from Chris Dagnall, Ryan Hedges and Jobi McAnuff.

Liverani believes his team are getting better and becoming more confident as they bid to avoid the drop.

He said: "The squad is improving and we are working a lot. But it's normal when we play at the bottom of the table it's not easy to feel confident. But now we are improving so we are trying to do our best."

Coventry's win kept them just above Orient in the table and the O's remain two points behind them with a game in hand.
