MATT'S MATTERS with Matt Lockwood

THE week couldn't really have gone worse for us, having been beaten heavily by two teams that were just above us in the table.

We knew before the games with Bournemouth and Brighton that a couple of wins would have put us comfortably into mid-table, but unfortunately it didn't work out like that and it has really been an horrific time for everyone at the club.

There was no excuses on Tuesday against Brighton, but I don't think the 5-0 defeat at Bournemouth really told the full story. If you look at the stats we had 12 corners to their two and 15 shots to their 12, so in someways I think it was a freak result.

But the really big thing for us was that we conceded so many goals in the end, and having done the same on Tuesday it really hurt us all.

As we saw at the weekend Bournemouth enjoyed a ten goal swing on us, which resulted in us dropping back into the relegation places.

That is how tight it is down there at the moment but that means it can work the other way because a result against Carlisle on Saturday and we can lift ourselves out of the drop zone.

A week in football is a long time as we have just seen.

Having put back-to-back wins together against Crewe and Port Vale we then go and lose heavily to two teams that are in and around us in the table and who we should have picked up points against.

It is up to us now though to lift ourselves so that we are up for Carlisle on Saturday and Millwall on Tuesday.

A couple of positive results can really turn things back around for us.

I know that we will be working hard in training this week to put this right and we will certainly need the fans to get behind us now in these next few games.
