Leyton Orient boss Fabio Liverani has confirmed he will not quit after the club's relegation from League One but admits he is uncertain over his long-term future.

The O's dropped down to League Two after their 2-2 draw at Swindon Town in today's final game of the season. Orient failed to win any of their last seven matches as the Italian manager was unable to keep the side in the division.

Despite chants by supporters for Liverani to leave, he insisted he will not walk away. But talks will be held this week with owner Francesco Becchetti to determine whether he will see out his contract which runs for another two years.

When asked if he would quit, Liverani said: "Absolutely not. I will not consider resigning.

"Now we have to drown our sorrows and this week I will meet with the chairman and maybe the situation will be more clearer for the future.

"It is too early to discuss this. We now have some days to recover psychologically from this relegation and then I will meet with the chairman and discuss the future. This is something I will can respond to after I've met with the chairman."

Liverani always insisted he felt the squad was good enough to remain in League One but was unable to keep the side up less than 12 months after the club were a penalty shootout away from reaching the Championship.

He said: "Of course the objective initially was to avoid relegation but it didn't go that way. When you get relegated everyone at the club is responsible for what happened.

"Of course me as the manager I'm the most responsible of everyone so I take my responsibility and it is a very sad day for me."
