The Guardian Series understands Leyton Orient will imminently appoint Ian Hendon as their new manager.
Former Orient defender Hendon has been working as the first-team coach at West Ham United but has accepted the chance to manage the O's in League Two next season.
Orient were looking for a new boss after the recent departure of Italian Fabio Liverani following the club's relegation from League One.
Owner Francesco Becchetti interviewed former Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson but he was too expensive for the club. The O's also spoke to Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale and Paul Ince over the position but have opted for Hendon.
In his previous stint as Barnet manager, Hendon was sacked after one year in April 2010 with the club 22nd in League Two and two matches of the season remaining.
Hendon also had a brief stint in charge of Dover Athletic in June 2010 but quit after just 18 days to become assistant manager at Gillingham.
He became development coach at West Ham in 2011 before being promoted the following year to first-team coach under Sam Allardyce.
